Be careful with the megapixel number.
The SCANZA specifications and manual describe 14 MP capture with an optional interpolated 22 MP output. A larger saved file is not proof of more optically captured detail.
The RODFS50 product page lists a 14 MP sensor. Its linked manual lists 13 MP (4208 × 3120), consistent with the manufacturer’s comparison table. We preserve the disagreement instead of treating either number as settled for every unit. Confirm the model and current specifications with the manufacturer.
We would not rank these scanners by that number. Captured detail, color, framing, and your intended output would need an actual test.
Choose by your workflow.
- Want a larger built-in preview? The 5-inch display is a documented difference. That does not prove a better saved image.
- Have 110 or 126? Both list these formats. Confirm the correct holder and test a few frames.
- Have small or unusual slide mounts? Confirm the physical holder with the manufacturer. The finder will keep those cases out of automatic suggestions.
- Need large prints or full 126 coverage? A lab sample is a sensible starting point; we have no measured evidence for either device’s performance at that output.
- Have movie reels or paper prints? Use a workflow intended for those materials.
Check the exact model and included parts.
